Bruce Nims serves as Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Millikin University’s Tabor School of Business and its Center for Entrepreneurship. In addition, Nims offers consulting services and seminars for not-for-profit organizations and local businesses, with special emphasis on Leadership and effective Boards of Directors.
Nims is the secretary/treasurer of InDecatur Ventures, LLC, a local venture capital firm. Nims is also active in community organizations; he is currently on the Board of the Decatur Parks Foundation, and the Historic Decatur Foundation.
Nims resides in Decatur with Kay, his wife. He enjoys hiking, travel, tennis, and skiing. Nims is a graduate of Millikin University and is retired from a career in Information Technology. He founded and led Nims Associates, Inc., offering information technology consulting services, for 26 years.
Julienne (Julie) Shields is the President and CEO of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE). Formerly, she was the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois, USA, and an entrepreneur launching a tech startup out of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s EnterpriseWorks incubator.
When she is not focusing her efforts on USASBE’s mission of advancing entrepreneurship education through bold teaching, scholarship, and practice, she enjoys traveling and watching her four children make their own impact on the world.
